News and Updates

Good day all students!!! cool

sorry it has been a while since my last message - I hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing Easter. Now on to business....

GCSE students It's nearly May and we are still focusing on past papers so that we can get a measure of your current working grade and where there are opportunities to make up some easy marks on exam technique for example. REMEMBER to work through the core practicals - they account for 25% of the GCSE so are really important. Question packs on Core Practicals can be sent out to you if you require - let me know by email.

AS students With end of year exams approaching please refer to your Learrning Plans and make sure your MCQ's are up to 85%+ and you have flashcards for all the mechanisms - especially the Core Practicals. I would suggest a minimum of 4 past papers getting to A grade should have been carried out before you sit your exams. The sooner you start, the longer we have to fix mistakes. Please start with 2017 so I can use the same mark schemes at the same time for everyone. Please scan a paper as a pdf and send it to me for analysis, even if you have marked it yourself. KEEP THE FILE UNDER 30Mb - split the scans into two if necessary please

A2 students With A levels approaching please refer to your Learrning Plans and make sure your MCQ's are up to 85%+ and you have flashcards for all the mechanisms - especially the Core Practicals. We already should have done 2017, 2018, 2019 Paper 1s to an A grade or higher and most of you have sent in 2017 Paper 2. Time to complete Paper 2 2018 and 2019 as soon as possible so we can pick over any areas of weakness and then move onto Paper 3 2017 to 2019 Ideally in May we only need another triplet of Papers (2020) and then I will aim to send out the 2024 Predictive Papers for all Exam boards where possible. Students studying Edexcel A SNAB will receive the advanced reading paper very soon and should contact me immediately when they do -

Finally There's always a bit of time for extra reading - here are some of the interesting and sometimes crazy discoveries from Biology and Biotech.
